I can’t believe it’s October and more than a few weeks since VMworld in Las Vegas, how time has flown and now only a few weeks until VMworld Barcelona.
Thought it was high time I did my write up about Vegas
The village as always for me was one of the key attractions as the VMTN team were there in force with power sessions, code sessions and the maker space.
Big takeaway – sign up for one of the maker spaces sessions using a raspberry pi and WaveFront with hands on help, to get a working project up in 90 (ish) mins!
All the community spaces were buzzing this year and I’m sure this is to do the VMware Code Coin program that rewarded you for taking part in community sessions and exploring the whole event rather than just doing one thing.
A new community came to my attention VMware Champions check it out
Theatrics were very event and I felt worked really well, such things as live bands and DJ’s rather than canned music give a much better vibe! or course getting some Storm Troopers to turn up always makes an impression
VMworld wouldn’t be complete without some parties and again this year didn’t disapoint
House of blues for the VMUG member party just one of many of the highlights.
Although this all seams just fun there is a serious side to VMworld, the sessions, meeting existing vendors and finding out more about vendors you don’t know much about and this will form the basis of my next article.
